326 Fuller St, West Newton, MA 02465 617-244-4411

Description: WEST METRO. Though initially developed in the late 17th century, legendary course architect Donald Ross redesigned Brae Burn early in the 18th century, and it remains a classic championship course today. The layout of the course is a delight, featuring relatively narrow fairways, a handful of water hazards, and oversized greens. The impressive list of events hosted here includes the U.S. Open and U.S. Amateur.

Salem Country Club

133 Forest St, Peabody, MA 01960 978-538-5400

Description: NORTH METRO. The site of the 2001 U.S. Senior Open, this demanding course requires every shot in the bag. Narrow fairways, doglegs, and protected greens require accurate placement off the tee, and severely mounded greens will test the best of putters. Bunkers and chipping areas guard the greens, so practice up on your short game to keep from tallying big numbers on this challenging course.

The Country Club Main

191 Clyde St, Chestnut Hill, MA 02467 617-566-0244

Description: BROOKLINE. This course typically plays to just over 6500 yards. However, through utilizing several holes from its sister par-3 course, it can be expanded to over 7000 yards for hosting major tournaments. A traditional course, generous fairways lead to small greens that are occasionally guarded by bunkers. With only a couple of water hazards, the majority of the test comes from the course.

Winchester Country Club

468 Mystic St, Winchester, MA 01890 781-729-1181

Description: SOMERVILLE. Designed on rolling terrain, the Winchester Country Club features generous fairways and medium-sized greens.
