Description: SOMERVILLE. Namesake John DeLellis, a retired police officer, opened this live music club way back in 1969. Though he's passed, his family remains dedicated to providing their loyal customers with opportunities to catch some of the city's best root musicians in an intimate, old school setting. The weekly line-up ranges from jazz to Cajun, rock to country, blues to folk, so you can always count on cool goings-on here. Sunday's jazz brunches are popular affairs, and the daily dinner menu features hot numbers like fried calamari, Southern-fried chicken, shrimp scampi and panini. Reservations are suggested on nights when big-name performers take the stage.
