This small boutique hotel is full of ambiance, comfort, charm and delightful service. The spacious rooms are beautifully appointed - the king beds are like sleeping on a cloud. The internet accessibility and places for plug-ins are adequate. I always carry an extension/multiple port device to handle all of my electronics. The sitting area, desk and bathroom are more than comfortable. The staff are all exceptional in spirit and efficiency. This is my favorite hotel in Boston - I've stayed there many, many times.
This is our second time staying at the Eliot. Our week-long stay was outstanding. The location is close to Fenway and walking distance to the stadium, gardens, commons, and restaurant. The staff, especially at the front desk and doormen are exceptional—friendly, helpful and experts on the area. The rooms are beautiful. We will always stay at the Eliot.
What a wonderful hotel. It's so lovely to stay somewhere where all the staff make you feel so welcome. The hotel is in the desireable area of Back Bay, a 25 minute walk to the park (which suits us being out of the centre). Adam, Kate, Arthur and Blessed - thank you SO much for your hospitality. Of course, Kevin and the other doormen were fantastic, as were Mae and the other breakfast team. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel, the only way to find out is to stay there and enjoy :)
This was a great place to stay, in general, but more specifically for the marathon. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The staff was top notch. The location is excellent. We were upgraded to a suite and that made the whole experience that much better. It is an older boutique hotel but very charming and warm. We were well taken care of in every way! I would stay here again with no hesitation! I heard several marathoners asking to book for the following year as they were checking out. We walked to the buses for the start (not that far but seemed really far in the torrential rain downpour, ha ha) we walked to Fenway and we walked home from the race. Less than a mile in all of the above. The only downside to walking home from the finish line is the closed roads because of security so it took/felt longer than it should have...but just know that in advance and look up what roads are closed. Super stay!
Highly recommend a stay at the Eliot for its tremendous charm, superb Back Bay location, and excellent service. We were upgraded at check-in to a generously-sized suite with zero street noise and every amenity for a comfortable and luxurious stay. Easy walk to restaurants and shopping on Newbury Street. The valet and front-of-house teams were highly responsive and professional. The furnishings are contemporary but the property has a charming, old school feel. I wouldn't hesitate to come back.
Can't say enough good things about this hotel! Booked a regular room but got a complimentary upgrade to a suite. Spacious and beautifully furnished, our suite had comfortable beds and was very quiet. The concierge was responsive and helpful. Every time I walked through the lobby, I was greeted pleasantly. Valet parking was easy. Location was perfect for our visit to Northeastern and would be great for shopping Boylston and Newbury Streets. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
I just spent three nights here (solo, on a work trip) and could not have been more pleased with my visit, from start to finish! I tend to obsess on hotels when I travel; I'll book multiple places in advance, then decide later on "the perfect spot". This was the case with my mid-March visit to Boston and I was thrilled with my ultimate choice of The Eliot Hotel. I'd requested a suite on an upper floor with a view, and was richly rewarded with a corner room on the 7th floor that featured three windows and a prime view of the Commonwealth & Mass Ave intersection. The suite itself felt sprawling and apartment-like, especially compared with most cookie-cutter hotels. I felt comfortable and "right at home" moments after walking in. And speaking of cookies, the double chocolate-chip welcome gifts were a nice surprise too! Every staff member I encountered - starting with Arthur at the front desk on arrival - was sincere, friendly and helpful. I was truly charmed by the hotel's combination of modern comforts with the refined elegance you'd expect from an impeccably maintained 1925 property. I am so glad to have bypassed the usual corporate hotel choices for this classic "Old Boston" gem. I will be recommending The Eliot for a long time to come, and hope to return someday!
Spent just one night at the Eliot and will absolutely return! The room was lovely, the staff extremely pleasant and helpful, and the location was perfect for us. Although we usually drive to Boston, car trouble mandated we take the train. The walk to the hotel from the station was not too long and allowed us to take in some sights on the way. The room, a small suite, was perfectly furnished, clean and beautifully decorated. French doors separated the small living room from the bedroom. Best of all we walked to Fenway Park for a playoff game, and back again at the end of the night. Staff was so friendly and accommodating! Great boutique hotel in Boston.
